Persons wishing to become a member must first submit a completed Order of Omega Application.
All applicants to the Order of Omega must:
- Be registered juniors or seniors (by credit hours) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
- Have a cumulative GPA at or above the all-Greek average for the prior semester.
- Display leadership within their chapters and the Greek community, as well as the greater Rensselaer/Troy community.
Submitting your application
Applications are due by October 16th, 2009, and may be submitted to the Dean of Students Office, Suite 4600 in Academy Hall or to the Order of Omega Mailbox in the Student Government Suite of the Student Union. Applicants will be notified of membership by November 6th.
Please note: While undergraduate initiates are not required to submit letters of recommendation, applicants should feel free to include any other information, such as a resumé, which they feel will be helpful in their selection to the Order. In addition, any undergraduate students who are selected to become a member of the honor society will need to pay a $70.00 initiation fee, made payable to the Order of Omega.

Nominations for honorary initiation
The Order of Omega is also currently accepting nominations for honorary initiates who have contributed in extraordinary ways to Rensselaer's Greek community and have shown exemplary leadership, compassion, and understanding of the Greek experience. Nominees do not need to be a member of any Greek organization, either on the Rensselaer campus or nationally, but they must be a Rensselaer alumnus or alumna, staff, or faculty member.
To nominate an individual for honorary initiation into the Order, please submit a letter (or letters) from suitable recommenders, detailing the nominee's involvements and contributions, to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, in the Dean of Students Office, in Academy Hall.
