Only full-time, matriculated married students with or without dependent children, or full-time matriculated single students with dependent children, are eligible for Family Student Housing.

Graduate students with assistantships are considered full-time students though registered for limited course hours. Post-doctoral students may be assigned when space permits, after graduate and undergraduate students have been accommodated.

Apartments are to be occupied by the student, his or her spouse, and, if applicable, their dependents. Upon the request of Residence Life, a student may be required to present a copy of his or her marriage certificate to verify marital status.

Please note the following when applying for Family Student Housing:

• Applications will not be accepted more than 12 months prior to the requested date of occupancy.
• Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications are placed on a waiting list, based on the date received by the Office of Residence Life.
• Applicants who cannot be assigned by the requested occupancy date will be notified about one month prior to that date by the Office of Residence Life.
• Assignments are usually made 15 to 30 days before the date housing is desired.
• Specific information concerning arrival and the check-in procedure will be made available to you at the time of your assignment to family housing.
