First-Year Move-In Information for the Class of 2021

Welcome to the Office of Student Living & Learning's First-Year Move-In page. The Office of Student Living & Learning is tasked with ensuring that our over 1,700 new first-year students are moved-in, comfortable, and ready to begin their first academic year at Rensselaer. Please review the information below, and if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 518-276-6284 or

Room Assignment

Most Class of 2021 students have their housing assignment for the 2017-2018 academic year. To review your assignment, go to StarRez with your RCS ID (the first part of your Rensselaer email before "") and password.

If you do not have a housing assignment, you have either 1) not completed a Housing Application, or 2) only recently completed a Housing Application and you have not been placed in a room. Do not panic, Rensselaer requires that all first-year students reside in on-campus residence halls. If you need to complete a Housing Application, please go to StarRez with your RCS ID (the first part of your Rensselaer email before "") and password. If you have completed an application, but have not received a housing assignment, you can call the Office of Student Living & Learning at 518-276-6284 or
